Requirements

- High School Diploma or equivalent qualification and experience combined
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a retail environment, ideally in a supervisory role
- A degree of satisfactory cultural competency and knowledge of Indigenous communities
- Demonstrated experience in customer management
- Familiar with Point of Sales (POS) Systems
- Familiar with Microsoft Excel, Office Word, and Outlook
- Experience in workplace staffing and scheduling
- Available to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
- Ability to provide professional customer Service
- Ability to stay organized and set priorities
- Written and verbal communication skills
- Must be 19 years or older
- Valid Serving It Right certificate (or able to acquire it)
- Ability to stand, bend, and reach repeatedly and for long periods of time
- Ability to lift repeatedly, up to 40 pounds occasionally

Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist in the hiring process for store personnel
- Provide training to Store Clerks
- Give direction to Store Clerks, including assigning tasks, on a daily basis
- Perform all Store Clerk duties
- Handle customer complaints and situations that Store Clerks cannot
- Take primary responsibility for the fuel dock, including pricing, inventory, training, and vendor communication
- Assist with scheduling and planning staff duties
- Perform merchandising and store organization
- Ensure that change is available for Store Clerks
- Ensure the store is organized and clean on a daily basis
- Assist the Store Manager in planning and implementing strategies to attract customers, increase sales, and achieve store goals
- Track the progress of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual objectives
- Assist the Buyer with monitoring and maintaining store inventory, including inventory counts
- Assist the Buyer with product choices, category management, and sales promotions
- Evaluate employee performance and identify hiring and training needs
- Act as the store’s representative and set an example for other staff
- Ensure all employees adhere to company’s policies and guidelines
- Follow Health and Safety requirements per provincial and health authority guidelines
