Requirements

- 5-7 years related experience in Project Management; and/or
- 5-7 years related experience in Community Living sector; and/or
- 5-7 year related experience in business and/or social enterprise settings.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to function within a complex pilot project with multiple diverse partners in an emergent and experimental setting.

- WCB Approved Workplace First Aid Level 1, or willingness to acquire
- Proven ability to take directions and work independently
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management
- Excellent interpersonal behaviour and communication skills
- Knowledge of social enterprise business principles and practices within the context of a non-profit operated enterprise
- Demonstrated ability to work well with others
- A people person
- Good organization, time and general management skills
- Excellent writing skills, including the ability to comprehend and communicate complex issues in plain language
- Proven ability to assess and interpret human behaviour accurately and respond supportively
- Knowledge of theory, principles and practices of the community living sector
- Experience writing grants, or a willingness to learn

Duties and Responsibilities

- Agrees to being a research participant including commitment to read, understand and sign a research consent form.
- Effectively monitors budgets and project plans with stringent timelines.
- Directs workflow for five Supervisory Staff who oversee 35 employee participants
- Ensures operations are consistent with the research methodology including responding to research recommendations and is aware of any ethical considerations as directed by the research team.
- Monitors and creates budgets, produces cashflows, and contributes to general accounting duties including payroll.
- Ensures the Safety Program is used and oversees the Production Manager who leads all Safety Program reporting.
- Oversees all hiring, recruitment and training for supervisory and employee participants
- Reports monthly to funders and inclusion Powell River on behalf of Sales and Marketing team and Research Team, as well as any outside contractors
- Other tasks as assigned by Director of Social Economy

The Team Leader is liaison between the research team, inclusion Powell River and funders including the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty reduction. The Team Leader directs and oversees the work of five Supervisory staff who operate the social enterprise production and sales inputs/outputs as well as oversee the employment of 25-35 employee participants working at qIM/OneLight manufacturing a fire starter made from reclaimed materials. qIM is also a research project with a research team that coordinates with the Team Leader to ensure research protocols and ethical considerations are followed. The Team Leader receives tasks from and reports to the Director of Social Economy and Other Cool Stuff.

Hours are flexible with some work-from-home option
