- Driver’s licence required.
- A Diploma or Degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
- A Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
- Minimum of 7 years of directly related experience including 3 years at a management level.
- Experience working with Indigenous communities or municipal governments is an asset.
- Experience developing, implementing and managing a variety of HR programs, tools and processes.
- Highly developed knowledge of HR best practices and programs.
- Experience working with a collective agreement and the collective bargaining process. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with union representatives.
- Strong knowledge of employment related legislation including the Canada Labour Code.
- Ability to develop and implement policies and procedures.
- Exceptional interpersonal and coaching skills, with the ability to work with staff at all levels and backgrounds and build trusting relationships. Ability to negotiate and influence at all levels.
- Ability to deal with conflict or difficult situations and work with parties to find appropriate solutions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to build, lead and mentor a team.
- Intermediate computer skills in MS Office
- Experience working with leave management and HRIS systems and other HR-based technology.
- The ability to streamline and continuously improve various HR processes.
- Acceptable Police Information Check.
- Genuine respect for Tla’amin Nation’s history and culture.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Develops an HR plan in collaboration with the CAO and Senior Management Team that supports and connects to our overall strategic plan and Comprehensive Nation Plan (CNP)
- Provides leadership, direction and support in the development, implementation and management of Tla'amins HR program including: recruiting, onboarding and orientation, employee relations, labour relations, retention & recognition, policy development, compensation & benefits, training & development, safety and wellness, and performance management.
