Requirements |
- Applicants who can work for only the summer months are encouraged to apply - The Casual Grace House Support Worker is expected to work 12 hour shifts, both day and night (awake) - Relevant education and experience - Experience and knowledge of domestic violence and coercive control - Effective communication and conflict resolution skills - Good problem solving skills and confidence to work independently - Understanding of trauma informed practice - Understanding of confidentiality - Respect for the decision-making process of each client - Valid first aid certificate, safe food handling certificate, and satisfactory criminal record check |
Duties and Responsibilities |
- The Casual Grace House Support Worker provides information, support, advocacy, and referrals to those who identify as women and are fleeing violence - Monitor the 24 hour help line and web chat - Connect residents and phone callers to services - Complete the intake process with new residents and help them settle in - Support residents when in crisis - Assess each resident's needs and provide support in developing a safety plan and goals - Maintain accurate records - Ensure house is clean and adequate food is available - Monitor house security |
