Requirements |
- Must be between the ages of 18-30 years old - Experience working with animals preferred - First Aid training an asset - Open to asking questions and learning new skills - Enjoy working as part of a team with strong communication and coordination - Ability to focus on a task - Must be physically able to move large kennels with critters inside and carry large bags of feed - Work will be indoors and out - Able to interact with the public and provide comfort to those in distress - Be readily able to adapt to changing circumstances - Be comfortable with animals in poor health and excrement - Must be COVID-19 vaccinated |
Duties and Responsibilities |
- Feed, water and medicate animals; from baby humming birds to deer - Cage and facility maintenance and repairs - Provide emotional support to coworkers and the public - Assist with rescues when required (optional) - Provide support in sensitive scenarios involving wildlife, nature and death of animal - There is no standard workday, which creates a stimulating and interesting opportunity |
Additional Details |
- Position runs from May to End of August - 35 hours/week - Shift Work; there are 2 shifts each day, 7:00-3:00 and 1:00-9:00, with a 1 hour meal break |
