Requirements |
- Driver’s licence required. - A Diploma or Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety or Advanced experience with Safety Management is preferred - Minimum of one year of related work experience and the completion of in-house training courses may substitute for formal education - An in-depth understanding of Safety Legislation and Regulations - Excellent organizational skills with a well-developed verbal and written communication skills - Strong Interpersonal skills, with ability to relate to persons at all levels with diverse educational, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds - Ability to influence and build collaborative relationships - Proficiency in working with Microsoft office applications (Teams, Word, Excel, Power Point, Publisher, etc.) - Satisfactory Criminal Record |
Duties and Responsibilities |
- Maintain, Develop and Review Health & Safety Initiatives, Policies, and Procedures in accordance with company and government regulations and legislation - Conduct Routine Inspections and Audits to ensure that Health & Safety requirements and governmental legislation is compliant - Maintain, and report on, safety and health records and statistics - Identify potentially hazardous situations and recommend corrective actions - Coordinate and participate in incident investigation reports, and corrective actions - Support with Safety Committee Monthly meetings, - Tailgate Safety Talks, and informational Awareness sessions - Support Supervisors and the AWP Representative to ensure the early and safe return to work for injured employees, and work with HR to support accommodation and modified work requirements - Manage safety document databases to ensure documents, investigations and records are properly managed |
