- One (1) year of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Current Food Safe
- Current First Aid, CPR, and Naloxone Training
- Possesses a valid driver's license
- Familiar with local community resources
- Ethically aligned with Harm-Reduction practices
- Demonstrates excellent communication and active listening skills
- Demonstrates professional boundaries
- Demonstrates understanding of emergency response protocol
- Ability to remain alert and perform tasks in demanding environment
- Ability to remain calm and responsive during crisis incident response
- Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback
- Contributes to a culturally safe environment
- Knowledge of food, meal preparation, and the functions of an efficient kitchen
- Understands the therapeutic role of food in a successful supportive housing environment
- Understands the Housing First model and the concept of barriers to housing
- Understands the needs of individuals with concurrent disorders
- Is familiar with common health issues and is sensitive to cultural differences
- Understands the harsh realities of stigma

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for all kitchen operations ensuring healthy and safe practices
Prepares meals and snack for up to 50, seven days a week
- Monitor inventory and participate in the inventory system for kitchen supplies, ensuring sufficient stock levels
- Create, review and update menu for program participants
- Create and update records of program participant preferences, allergies and special dietary needs
- Ensure the safe storage and disposal of food and beverages
- Notify Leadership Team of any repairs or maintenance required for kitchen appliances and equipment
- Maintain proper sanitation and preparation practices and procedures
- Balance needs of clients within program limits
- Collaborative team approach for continuity of care
