- Related diploma or minimum Grade 12, plus two (2) years of recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Demonstrated proof of two (2) years sobriety if having alcohol/drug problems
- Crisis Intervention Skills Training an asset
- Current First Aid and CPR
- Naloxone Training an asset
- Food Safe
- Must be available to work all available shifts on a rotation
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable vehicle
- Familiar with Mental Health and Substance Use services
- Basic understanding of mental health and substance use theories, principals and practices
- Basic awareness of street culture among individuals with multiple barriers
- Understanding of supporting challenging individuals from a trauma informed lens
- Ethically aligned with Harm Reduction framework &
- Housing first model
- Experience with individuals facing multiple barriers
- Ability to perform home support duties and assisting with life skills
- Ability to work closely with shift partner(s)
- Ability to articulate needs of self and others
- Consistent and accurate reporting
- Maintaining up-to-date, objective and detailed documenting
- Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain client confidentiality
- Ability to maintain an organized work space
- Excellent and consistent professional boundaries
- Understanding emergency response protocol
- Ability to remain calm and responsive during emergency situations
- Ability to remain alert and perform responsibilities in demanding environment
- Ability to remain objective, non-judgmental and compassionate
- Ability to maintain consistent self-care practices

Duties and Responsibilities

- In this role, you will provide assistance and basic social and life skills assistance with individuals facing multiple barriers
- You look-out for the security and well-being of program participants and their living environment by providing incident crisis response, home support, and promoting the most independence, self-responsibility and healthiest lifestyles as possible
- You value genuine inclusivity and believe that we, as a community, are ethically accountable for the health and wellness of all who live here.

Additional Details

Successful candidates will be required to complete a criminal record check to work among vulnerable populations.
