Requirements

This position is part of the Canada Summer Jobs Program, which is an initiative of the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help all young Canadians develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market. This position is not restricted to hiring students, all youth aged 15 to 30 years may be eligible participants.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
- Adept at promoting content on social media
- Ability to operate under pressure and meet tight deadlines
- Effectively organizational and project management skills
- Practice decisiveness and good judgment
- Flexible in hours to accommodate community events and initiatives
- Ability to travel to First Credit Union locations on occasion
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to relate well to others and build effective business relationships
- Demonstrated project management, team building, and time management skills
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and video editing software would be an advantage

Duties and Responsibilities

- Social media management and support
- Creation of content, including social media posts, blog posts, infographics, photos, and videos
- Maintains and develops content calendar for various social channels
- Assists with market research and planning to ensure social media presence is kept current and engaging
- Maintains knowledge of target audiences and stays on top of trending topics
- Supports with planning and execution of community events
- Assists with donations and sponsorships
- Performs other duties as assigned
