Requirements

- Driver’s licence and vehicle required.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work well independently
- Office administration and/or bookkeeping experience required
- Strong accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Experience working alongside senior management in business environment
- Strong computer skills including microsoft office and use of cloud-based softwares
- Experience using both Microsoft and Apple operating systems
- Customer service experience Knowledge of Sage 50
- Simply Accounting (considered an asset)
- Post-secondary education in business administration or accounting at the university or college level (considered an asset)

Duties and Responsibilities

- Management of all matters related to accounts receivable
- Maintain a current and accurate filing system
- Support documentation and record management
- Create, maintain, and enter information into databases and accounting software
- Keep up to date with current client progress in company EMR system
- Arrange completion letters with medical office assistants
- Investigate missing information required to complete accounts receivable
- Resolving outstanding accounts receivables cases
- Updating balances for respective client accounts
- Providing support for other assigned financial and administrative tasks
- Be familiar with legislation governing data retention of financial records
- Process payments and refunds (credit cards and/or cheque)
- Maintain client file (billing adjustments, tax packages, and client record management)
- Answer phone and email inquiries related to funder/client billing questions
- Enter, review, and update anticipated client discharge dates

Sunshine Coast Health Centre and Georgia Strait Women’s Clinic are private residential treatment centres for men and women receiving care for addictions, mental health, and trauma in Powell River, BC. We are a licensed and accredited residential care facility as well as registered B Corp dedicated to helping clients transcend through their addictions through a collaborative and comprehensive program of counselling, medical, and psychiatric care.

Our compassionate team of counsellors, nurses, support staff, and other professionals is central to both programs’ ability to provide effective care. Behind our client care teams is our administration team that keeps operations running smoothly, ensuring staff working directly with our clients can focus on what matters. With some changes and adaptations in administrative and leadership positions, we now are looking to add an additional person to the finance team.

The successful candidate for this position will support the finance team, administrators, and managers of other departments. The Financial Coordinator performs work as required and functions as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team.
