Requirements

- Ability to carry out routine mechanical, electrical, plumbing and carpentry maintenance and repairs on all docks and upland facilities in a safe and efficient manner
- Ability to administer established maintenance and repair program and adjust as necessary
- Ability to problem solve and work independently as well as part of a team
- Good computer skills
- Possess exceptional customer service and conflict resolution skills
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required during peak season
- Marine industry experience is a definite asset
- Possessing a reasonable set of handyman tools would be an asset
- Restricted Radio Operators Certificate (Maritime) is an asset
- First Aid is an asset

Duties and Responsibilities

- Performs multiple daily foot patrols of docks and upland facilities and launch ramp in all weather conditions to ensure facilities are safe, functional and litter free
- Performs daily boat counts and assists with boat moves as required
- Carries out repairs and maintenance work on docks and upland facilities
- Complies with LHA’s health and safety policies and recognized good working practices
- Provides customer service to harbour users and members of the public; ensuring users comply with all LHA policies, rules and regulations in a professional manner
- Collects fees for use of the public boat ramp, moorage, and all other services provided by LHA
- Checking, cleaning and restocking bathrooms and showers on a daily basis
