Requirements

- Commitment to working in a team environment with our instructors, Board and volunteers
- To ensure client confidentiality
- Computer knowledge: MS Word, e-mail, internet, Facebook
- Horse experience is an asset
- Strong interpersonal skills, including a passion for working with children and adults of all abilities
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize work in a sometimes chaotic environment
- Ability to communicate our goals and requirements to parents/caregivers, volunteers and community
- Must be available from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Thursday (the remaining five hours may be flexible)
- Satisfactory Criminal Record check

Duties and Responsibilities

- Recruit, assess, train and schedule Volunteers in collaboration with the Riding Instructors
- Maintain confidential records of clients and volunteers
- Maintain volunteer lists, training records and riding fee payments
- Prepare invoices for fee payment
- Become familiar with PRTRA’s policies such as rider fees and facility rentals and effectively communicate these requirements and aid in the completion of forms as needed
- Keep all administration information up to date
- Communicate with parents/caregivers, physiotherapists and school representatives to ensure that all required paperwork for clients is complete and received prior to each 10 week riding session
- Deal with general enquiries
- Participate in, and ensure there are volunteers to help with fundraising events and work parties
- Keep our website and Facebook page current
- Ensure computer back-ups are done monthly
- Help maintain/clean the building and ensure that supplies are on hand

At PRTRA our purpose is to provide therapy in an encouraging, fun, safe environment for our 75 riders weekly. Therapeutic Riding has long been recognized as a very effective therapy for people with disabilities, providing physical, psychological, social and educational benefits to all those who participate.
