- As a Demonstration Garden, this venue puts on workshops for the whole community, and provides a learning space for groups such as Inclusion Powell River and Family Place clients
- Must have a computer, internet access, and telephone
- First Aid training an asset
- A satisfactory criminal record check is required
- Between 15 and 30 years of age
- Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act
- Legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations

Duties and Responsibilities

- Organize and maintain the Demonstation Garden
- Plan and implement potato coop project
- Help in the kitchen
- Assist front reception as needed

Additional Details

- The Community Resource Center (CRC) offers a daily drop in environment for marginalized members of our community, including homeless, at risk of homeless, low income, seniors and people with health (including mental health) issues. It provides food, coffee, networking opportunities, has a commercial kitchen and the community demonstration garden and community composting area in the back yard
- A few years ago the garden was expanded, and started Powell River's first potato coop - where (mostly food insecure) individuals come together for a number of work parties over the summer to grow potatoes, which are then shared at the end of the season
