- Bachelor degree in social work, child and youth care, or related human service field;
- 1-year experience working with families of children affected by FASD;
- 1-year experience working with children with disabilities

Duties and Responsibilities

- Strong interpersonal skills: ability to listen, build rapport and develop relationships of trust with families and other professionals
- Demonstrated high degree of ethical practice in relationships with individuals, families, service providers and other professionals
- Demonstrated skill in developing and facilitating support groups
- Demonstrated knowledge of FASD and impact on families
- Demonstrated understanding of adolescent and adult addiction issues
- Demonstrated understanding of disability issues and legislation
- Demonstrated knowledge of systems theory, assessment, treatment modalities and family-centered care
- Demonstrated cultural competence
- Demonstrated consulting and problem-solving skills
- Able to work effectively independently with clinical supervision
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear and accurate verbal and written reports
- Excellent organizational and time management skills in order to manage a full portfolio of individuals with differing functioning abilities and home environments; manage multiple priorities
- Demonstrated skills working as part of an interagency and community-based team
- Demonstrated case coordination skills
- Proven ability to use personal computer and appropriate software effectively to complete the positions work on time. This includes at a minimum file management, e-mail, internet search, and word processing skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of the impact of medical, social and behavioural conditions on child development and family functioning
